I think the book could have used some more exploration into counterarguments those happy with corporate life and touched deeper into the mindset of students and implications for society if all top graduates are choosing to join top law, consulting or investment bank firms.

Which is a shame, as the chapters discussing the true motivations of students fear of failure and the purpose of the Rhodes scholarship were my highlights, as Pryor touches upon issues that are not covered as much as they should be. Ironically the actual idea of the "Pinstriped Prison" I felt was the weakest part of the book as it was not covered as deeply as it required.

Regardless, a great read for anyone studying a law degree as food for thought. I think this book should be required reading for all university students! Pryor outlines the recruitment techniques of some of the high flying industries, law, management consulting and investment banking, and discusses why so many high achieving students end up working in jobs the don't like, for reasons they're unsure of, and feeling unable to leave.
