One of the things that I believe sets ACCC apart from every other chaplaincy professional organization is the sincere support and encouragement that is given in the board interview. In my interview, I had no doubt that the board members had my best interests in mind and truly wanted to support my ministry and development as a chaplain.

I am grateful and proud to serve as a board certified chaplain with this organization and apply what is imparted, not just in chaplaincy, but also in the sanctuary and beyond the four walls. ACCC gave me a sense of validation that chaplain ministry outside of the healthcare context is valid, vibrant and professional. ACCC provides a standardized pathway for obtaining board certification along with an incredibly affirming and instructive practice. ACPE is a multicultural, multifaith organization devoted to providing education and improving the quality of ministry and pastoral care offered by spiritual caregivers of all faiths through the clinical educational methods of Clinical Pastoral Education. Each listing includes information about the Center and how to contact each one for further information. This concentration is offered in coordination with Bayan. All students must complete the required course, Introduction to Chaplaincy Studies, three courses offered through Bayan, and two additional CTS electives in the area of Chaplaincy Studies. This concentration is appropriate for any student who seeks preparation for ministry, but are not necessarily interested in pursuing a degree.

This concentration may provide an appropriate foundation for alternate paths to ministry within the United Church of Christ. The Certificate Concentration in LGBTQ studies is designed to offer a specialized course of study for persons, including professionals in fields other than ministry, who wish to explore LGBTQ issues within a theological framework, but are not necessarily interested in pursuing a degree.

To qualify for the LGBTQ Concentration, a minimum of 4 of the 6 courses must be drawn from the list of courses identified by the Faculty as satisfying the Concentration requirement. Yes, the hour Chaplaincy course is recognized by Manna University which offers up to 6 credits of elective credit for students and Chaplains and by Heidelberg University.
